„I think that you will all agree that we are living in most interesting times. I never remember myself a time in which our history was so full, in which day by day brought us new objects of interest, and, let me say also, new objects for anxiety.”
Does it sound familiar? Well it is part of a speech by Joseph Chamberlain made in 1898.
It is also a quotation which served as the origin of the coloquial saying “may you live in interesting times.” This supposed Chinese curse is our reality right now.
The APA Spring exhibition was planned to be opened on 3 May. Instead of an exhibition in a real gallery with a vernissage and wine we are opening a gallery of works online. APA artists in their respective places of solitude reacted differently to the idea of isolation and confinement.
They used different techniques and styles. Isolation may have even contributed to the reinforcement or if you prefer refinement of the individual styles.
