Krystyna Kaplan (Nosarzewska) has been living in the UK since 1976. She has worked on over 60 documentaries for BBC, ITV and Channel 4 as a lm editor and producer/director, winning awards for several of her lms. She took courses on batik in London and was taught by well-known artists, such as Noel Dyrenforth and Jill Denton. She has written ve books, including ‘Batik on Paper’, the only publication on the subject. Krystyna’s works (batiks on paper, cotton, silk and wool collages) have been exhibited in London, Prague and Poland. Maria Wrońska-Friend wrote in her publication ‘Sztuka Woskiem Pisana’ that, ‘Kaplan (in her batiks on paper) combines technique of the proper batik with bleaching, collage and painting’.
